Local Child Care To Be Recognized On National TV In May

Excessive energy, contagious laughter, and cheery repetitive songs undoubtedly indicate one has entered - THE PRESCHOOL ZONE!" That particular zone belongs to Placer County’s Creative Kids Preschool & Child Care in Meadow Vista, CA, that has been offering high quality preschool and child care to over 350 children the past fourteen years.

Creative Kids Preschool & Child Care is a state-licensed, nationally accredited large family childcare that is well known for its individualized early childhood educational program and their numerous community-involved activities. They use animals, insects, and various world environments to create interest and excitement in the children to learn and initialize a great foundation to continue learning throughout their lives. Creative Kids’ community involvement is readily visible when entering the pre-school and quickly acknowledged when talking to parents and the children.

Dozens of trophies are stacked on shelves identifying repeated successes in parade float entries from local towns surrounding them. A photo of a twenty-two foot long pirate ship float labeled "The Notorious Miniature American River Pirates" sits next to another parade float photo that shows a huge hen house with preschoolers as yellow chicks emerging from cracked white eggs under the watchful eye of a huge colorful rooster labeled "Gold Country’s Famous Chicken Ranch." Adjacent article photos show "Snow White and the Thirty Dwarfs" and a "Yellow Submarine" with little children’s faces peering through riveted portholes. Plaques, ribbons, and newspaper clippings around the room tell of Creative Kids’ other community involvements that include the daycare’s annual Trike-a-Thon to benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital and promote children’s bike safety.

Toys, books, paintings, little chairs, and happy children scurrying about spell out a wonderful preschool and child care environment. In so much, it is without surprise that Creative Kids Preschool & Child Care’s local reputation has recently been catapulted to state levels and in a couple weeks bursts out nationally. State Legislators in a ceremony held at the State Capital building recognized owners, Patrick and Jeannette Witz, as well as seven other child care providers from around California for their outstanding early childhood educational commitment and accomplishments on April 29, 2008.

The national PBS early childhood educational series, "A Place of Our Own" (with Emmy and Peabody awards) will be airing a short "Provider of the Week" documentary in Episode #4090 on the Witz’s and their child care program on May 16, 2008. KVIE airs it Sat, May 17 at 6:00 pm; Sat, May 24 at 5:30 pm. For additional station and channel listing and times, go to http://www.aplaceofourown.org/

When asked what makes Creative Kids Preschool & Child Care great, co-owner and teacher Jeannette Witz stated, "Young children are sponges for knowledge…all we do is recognize the timing of that curiosity and then teach in a fun, interesting, and supportive way. Most times the children are having so much fun doing an activity that they don’t even know they are learning!" This only goes to support Creative Kids Preschool and Child Care brochure’s tag line, "Where Learning Is Fun!". Congratulations to Patrick and Jeannette Witz at Creative Kids Preschool & Child Care for their outstanding recognition, support, and education of young children.
